Beginners Course
Developed
by the monks of Shaolin monastery in China thousands
of years ago as a complete exercise system and
a very effective martial art. Kung fu does not
rely on strength or brute force but works with
the individual's ability to be supple yet strong
within themselves. Kung fu works with the flow
of nature and the universal energy (chi) which
flows within our bodies. It requires both physical
and mental discipline to practice Kung fu and
in-turn you can attain a balanced and harmonious
life through exercise.
The
aim of the course is to teach a combination of
kicking, punching and blocking techniques which
are effective for both self defence and body conditioning.
You will also learn some traditional stretching
and breathing techniques which will help your
flexibility, agility and quality of life. In addition,
some basic forms (patterns) will also be taught
to allow you to practice at home.
All
ages and levels of fitness are welcome and you
do not need to have any prior martial arts experience.
